Robin Shaffert

Robin Shaffert is a Senior Policy Associate and Adjunct Instructor at the Georgetown University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. In her Center for Excellence work, Robin focuses on District of Columbia policy issues that affect people with and at risk for developmental disabilities and their families. Robin testifies before the Council of the District of Columbia on performance oversight and budget issues, helps advance research, and collaborates with other disability stakeholders in DC to advance the interest of the developmental disability community in the District. Just priorRobin was the Senior Executive Officer, Individual and Family Support at The Arc of the United States where she spearheaded the creation of The Arc’s Center for Future Planning. The Center encourages adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families to plan for the time when aging family caregivers are no longer able to provide support.

Robin received her J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1986. She is a member of Order of the Coif. Robin was a Note & Research Editor of the Michigan Law Review. She received the Raymond K. Dykema Scholarship Award and a Certificate of Merit in Employment Discrimination.
