Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s 1st Down for Fitness Program Hosts KEEN Athletes Watch KEEN athletes with the Redskins. KEEN athletes joined Washington Redskins players, and strength and conditioning coaches at the 1st Down for Fitness Program held at Redskin Park, Ashburn, Virginia, on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 for a variety of fitness activities including push ups, an obstacle course, speed ladders and sleds. Each KEEN athlete was matched with a student volunteer coach from Georgetown Preparatory Academy. The fitness session ended with each KEEN athlete sharing with the group of Redskin players and volunteer coaches what they did that day “that made them very Proud.” Everyone at KEEN was thrilled to have the opportunity to learn about fitness from the Washington Redskins—thank you! KEEN Athletes Tour White HouseKEEN Club enjoyed a very special treat Saturday morning. Following weeks of anticipation, the group took a trip to the White House! Perhaps more breathtaking than the historic building itself were our athletes’ attentive questions, which sometimes stumped the Secret Service. The athletes expressed a deep interest and curiosity in the White House, allowing the experience to be far more interactive than normal. To everyone’s dismay, the tour was over before we knew it! Special thanks to Penny and the Secret Service of the White House for their support and enthusiasm. ![]() 15th Annual KEEN Golf & Tennis Classic Through rain and shine, the 15th KEEN Golf & Tennis Classic was an amazing success in raising funds for KEEN’s programs and awareness of the needs of young people with disabilities in the greater DC area.
