Staff

Beata Okulska
Executive Director

Beata Okulska assumed her duties as Executive Director of KEEN Greater DC in August, 2001. Her primary responsibility is to carry out the strategic plans and policies as established by the board of directors that include: advising the Board, advocating and implementing organization changes in agreement with KEEN's mission, formulating policies and planning recommendations to the Board, deciding or guiding courses of action in operations by staff, and overseeing all operations of KEEN and the implementation of plans.

Okulska is a native of Poland and came to the United States in 1986. She holds a master's degree in economics from Warsaw School of Economics. Formerly, she worked for the Epilepsy Foundation, where she served as Program Director, and as Director in the Affiliate Relations Department.

Beth Wenger
Program Manager

Beth Wenger began her part-time position as Program Manager of KEEN's DC programs in May. She has been volunteering with KEEN for more than 15 years and continues to volunteer at the Maryland sports programs. Beth is also a professional writer and editor with an undergraduate degree from Albright College in Reading, Pa., and a Publication Specialist Certificate from George Washington University.

Denise Brownlee
Development Director

Denise Brownlee began working with KEEN in March of 2004. As KEEN’s Development Director she plans and executes KEEN’s fundraising events, targets grant and foundation prospects and assists in the creation and production of the annual report, brochures and other communication materials. Denise’s role is critical to KEEN's mission of providing all of our programs free-of-charge to our athletes, their families and caregivers. Denise has extensive experience in marketing, communications and fundraising with major corporations and nonprofit organizations. In addition to her work with KEEN, Denise volunteers with several boards and committees focusing on education and sports for young people. Denise is the co-founder of the Bradley Hills Education Foundation.

Elizabeth Stern Lukin
Development Assistant

Elizabeth Stern Lukin joined KEEN Greater DC as part-time development assistant in May, 2007. She has degrees in both law and marital & family therapy. Over the past ten years, Elizabeth has been a volunteer and fundraiser for schools and not-for-profit organizations. At KEEN Greater DC, Elizabeth works with Denise Brownlee to plan and execute fundraising events.
